1. Student Membership
Target Group and organization:
This membership category is intended for undergraduate students enrolled in accredited academic institutions. The BioCosmos Foundation will actively support these institutions in establishing official BioCosmos Student Clubs, in alignment with each university’s specific rules and regulations. These clubs will typically operate under the Office of the Dean of Students or any other designated university authority and should be affiliated to respective BioCosmos Foundation (BCK/T/U/R).
To facilitate the establishment process, the Foundation will provide a draft constitution outlining the general governance structure for the clubs. This document will serve as a foundational guide, offering universities a practical starting point and essential tools to initiate and formalize the clubs’ formation.
Duly registered members of these student clubs will be eligible to receive support from the BioCosmos Foundation, as approved periodically by the Foundation’s Board. This support may include:
- Discounted membership fees
- Access to student-focused webinars and training programs
- Networking opportunities with professionals and peers
- Participation in student-led Intelligent Design advocacy initiatives
Justification:
This category is designed to cultivate early interest in Intelligent Design among students. By providing access to educational resources, mentorship, and active participation in BioCosmos student clubs, the Foundation aims to nurture a new generation of ID advocates capable of influencing academic and professional spheres within their respective jurisdictions.
Membership Registration fees:
Each club shall set registration fees that members will be required to pay.
2. Regular (Full/Professional) Membership
Target Group:
This category is intended for practicing professionals across a wide range of disciplines—including science, education, theology, law, medicine, engineering, and other fields—that align with or support the principles of Intelligent Design.
Justification:
Regular membership is designed to engage professionals who actively contribute to the advancement of Intelligent Design through research, teaching, policy development, innovation, or public engagement. These members play a critical role in shaping discourse, influencing policy, and mentoring emerging ID advocates. By offering comprehensive access to BioCosmos Kenya/Tanzania/Uganda/Rwanda resources, this membership empowers professionals to stay informed, collaborate across disciplines, and lead initiatives that promote the ID agenda.
Members are expected to uphold the values and mission of BCK/T/U/R, participate in its programs, and contribute to its growth and credibility within their respective fields.

3. Associate Membership
Target Group:
This membership category is designed for individuals who have a genuine interest in Intelligent Design but may not meet the criteria for full professional membership. It is ideal for those working in support or complementary fields that are not directly aligned to the scientific underpinnings of the theory of Intelligent design eg. Law, Business, Economics etc but are independent thinkers, advocates, and enthusiasts who support the mission of BioCosmos Kenya/Tanzania/Uganda/ Rwanda and wish to engage with its activities.
Justification:
Associate Membership plays a vital role in expanding the reach and impact of BCK/T/U/R by fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and inclusivity. By welcoming individuals from diverse backgrounds, this category strengthens the foundation’s network and encourages creative, cultural, and educational contributions to the ID movement. It provides a platform for supporters who may not be directly involved in scientific or academic research but who are passionate about promoting ID principles through outreach, advocacy, and public engagement.
This membership also serves as a gateway for individuals who may later transition into full membership as their involvement deepens or their professional alignment evolves.

4. Emeritus Membership
Target Group:
This membership category is intended for professionals who have formally retired from active service but wish to remain intellectually and socially engaged with the Intelligent Design movement and the activities of BioCosmos Kenya/Tanzania/Uganda/Rwanda (BCK/T/U/R).
Justification:
Emeritus members represent a vital reservoir of experience, insight, and institutional memory. Having contributed significantly to their respective fields and to the advancement of ID, these individuals are uniquely positioned to offer mentorship, strategic guidance, and historical perspective. This category honors their legacy while providing a structured pathway for continued involvement in BCK/T/U/R initiatives.
By recognizing and integrating retired professionals into the foundation’s ongoing work, BCK/T/U/R fosters intergenerational collaboration, preserves foundational knowledge, and strengthens its leadership base. Emeritus members may serve in advisory roles, contribute to legacy projects, and support the development of future ID advocates.
Membership fees for this category are typically reduced to reflect their retired status, while still granting meaningful access to resources and opportunities for engagement.

5. Corporate or Institutional Membership
Target Group:
This membership category is tailored for organizations, companies, academic institutions, research centers, and other entities that wish to formally affiliate with BioCosmos Kenya/Tanzania/Uganda/Rwanda (BCK/T/U/R). It is ideal for institutions that support, are open to, or are exploring Intelligent Design-related research, education, training, and advocacy.
Justification:
Corporate or Institutional Membership is a strategic avenue for fostering long-term partnerships between BCK/T/U/R and institutions that share its vision or are interested in contributing to the advancement of ID. These partnerships help integrate ID into institutional frameworks, promote collaborative research and education, and expand the reach of BCK/T/U/R across sectors and regions.
Through this membership, institutions gain collective access to BCK/T/U/R’s resources and programs, enabling them to support their staff, students, and stakeholders in engaging with ID-related initiatives. Institutional members may also co-develop projects, host events, and participate in policy dialogues, thereby playing an active role in shaping the future of ID in East Africa and beyond.

Corporate/Institutional Membership Approval Process
1. Initial Engagement and Expression of Interest
- The process begins with a formal expression of interest from the institution, which may be initiated through:
- A written proposal or letter of intent
- An official meeting request
- Participation in a BCK/T/U/R event or outreach program
- BCK/T/U/R responds by scheduling a preliminary engagement meeting to explore mutual interests, values, and potential areas of collaboration.
2. Strategic Consultation and Needs Assessment
- A joint consultation is held between BCK/T/U/R representatives and the institution’s leadership or designated liaison officers.
- This meeting aims to:
- Identify shared goals and values related to Intelligent Design
- Assess the institution’s capacity and interest in ID-related activities (e.g., research, education, outreach)
- Determine the type and level of support expected from BCK/T/U/R
- Clarify the institution’s potential contributions to the partnership
3. Drafting and Signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
- Upon mutual agreement, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is drafted to formalize the partnership.
- The MoU should clearly outline:
- Scope of collaboration (e.g., joint research, curriculum development, training programs, public engagement)
- Roles and responsibilities of both parties
- Support mechanisms (e.g., access to resources, co-hosted events, technical assistance)
- Operational cycle (e.g., annual review, renewal terms, reporting timelines)
- Governance and communication protocols (e.g., designated contact persons, steering committees)
- The MoU is reviewed and signed by authorized representatives from both BCK/T/U/R and the institution.
4. Membership Activation
- Once the MoU is signed:
- The institution is officially registered as a Corporate/Institutional Member
- A membership certificate is issued
5. Implementation and Monitoring
- The partnership is activated according to the agreed operational cycle.
- BCK/T/U/R may assign a liaison officer or partnership coordinator to support implementation.
- Regular check-ins, joint planning sessions, and progress reviews are conducted to ensure alignment and effectiveness.
6. Renewal and Expansion
Transitioned into a strategic alliance or long-term partnership
At the end of the operational cycle, both parties review the partnership outcomes.
Based on performance and evolving interests, the MoU may be:
- Renewed with updated terms
- Expanded to include new areas of collaboration
