BioCosmos Africa is pleased to invite you to a Virtual Workshop for Prospective Research Fund Applicants, scheduled for Monday, 30th March 2026. This workshop is designed to guide applicants through the expectations, structure, and requirements of the upcoming BioCosmos Africa Research Fund Call.
The session will introduce key elements of the program and provide clarity on proposal development, thematic alignment, and methodological rigor expected for successful submissions.
The workshop will cover:
1. Introduction to the BioCosmos Africa Research Fund
- Background and objectives of the fund
- Annual budget allocation and expected grants
- Eligible countries: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda
- Expected deliverables and research outputs
2. Understanding Intelligent Design in Research
- What qualifies as ID-aligned research
- Distinguishing scientific ID inquiry from non-ID/theological arguments
- How to frame hypotheses and methodologies within ID principles
3. Requirements for the Research Call
- Eligibility criteria
- Required documentation (application form, CVs, budget template)
- Formatting standards, page limits, and approved methodologies
- Budget guidelines with emphasis on value-for-money
4. Methodological Expectations
- Crafting clear research questions and hypotheses
- Integrating ID principles into empirical or theoretical work
