The trip was financed by BioCosmos Africa, with events led by Mr. Dag K. Norli the CEO BioCosmos Africa and Dr. Richard Ochieng – Director of Operations (BioCosmos Africa), supported by Mr. Isaac Mutono the Administrator BioCosmos Uganda, Mr. Henry Ssemakula from the Commission of University Education, Ministry of Education and sports and Prof. Charles Twesigye a lecturer Kyambogo University.
The activities began on 11th August 2025 at 11:00am at Kampala International University (College of Education, School of Natural and Applied Sciences– Faculty/Department that teach Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, History & Religious Studies). This was followed by Kampala University at 3:00pm in the afternoon where the target faculties were the School of education, school of social sciences- faculties/departments that teach biology, chemistry, physics, geography, history and religious education.
On 12thAugust 2025 at 9:00am the team visited Ndejje University and here it targeted the faculty of education and departments that teach biology, physics, geography, history and religious education. This was followed by Uganda Christian University at 2:00pm where the target was the faculty of education and departments that teach biology, chemistry, physics, geography, history and religious education.
On 13th August 2025 at 9:00am, the team went to Bugema University where it targeted the faculty of education, faculty of science and technology, faculty of social sciences with interest in the departments that teach biology, chemistry, physics, geography, history and religious education.
On 14th August 2025, the team gave a courtesy call to NCDC (National Curriculum Development Center) at 9:00am, Kyambogo University at 12:00pm and later a meeting held at Makerere University on how well a public lecture could be held at CoNAS at 3:00pm.
On 15th August 2025, the team Visited Uganda Martyr’s University targeting the faculty of education and the faculty of science and the departments that teach; biology, chemistry, physics, geography, history and religious education.
In each University, copies of the Beyond Evolution were donated. The round trip’s objectives were achieved as discussed below under each category:

Subject: Establishing Institutional Collaboration with BioCosmos Foundation
The meeting focused on establishing grounds for future collaboration with KIU, particularly involving the Heads of Departments in the faculties of interest. The University officials were formally introduced to the BioCosmos Foundation, including its mission, strategic objectives, core activities, student Club Concept and training opportunities in Intelligent Design. The discussion also highlighted the launch of the BioCosmos Africa Research Fund and the proposal to establish a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between KIU and the BioCosmos Uganda (BCU). Additionally, a request was made for KIU to host a public lecture on Intelligent Design.
The meeting was highly productive. The target staff responded positively to the presentation and expressed strong support for the proposed initiatives. They commended the introduction of the research fund, describing it as a timely and impactful opportunity for academic staff. Emphasis was placed on ensuring that the application process remains straightforward and inclusive, avoiding bureaucratic barriers that could discourage faculty participation.
The target staff, expressed readiness to host a public lecture on Intelligent Design as soon as collaboration is effected. They emphasized that such a lecture would serve as a critical first step in familiarizing faculty members with the foundational concepts of ID, prior to encouraging enrollment in formal training in Intelligent Design.
Dr. Wanjala was nominated as the focal person at KIU in a bid to take Intelligent Design forward at the University.

On 11th August, 2025, a meeting was held with the staff of Kampala University. The CEO BioCosmos Africa with the Director of Operations (East Africa) delivered a presentation that introduced the theory of Intelligent Design, BioCosmos Africa student clubs, public lectures and Research Fund.
The staff appreciated the initiative and promised to engage higher authorities in the university to take Intelligent Design forward. They promised to have a joint meeting and have a focal person of BioCosmos Uganda at KU

The staff welcomed the initiative of Intelligent Design in the University and unanimously agreed that Mr. Magoola Abel serves as the focal person BioComos Uganda at Bugema University.
They requested the Biocosmos Africa to support innovations at Bugema University and conduct workshops about Intelligent Design for the benefit of the University and Biocosmos Africa. They also requested for books like Science and Religion to make the teaching of the content of Intelligent Design integrated with other courses easier. The staff welcomed the idea of the research fund and promised to comply when that time comes.

Subject: Engagement with BioCosmos Africa and Introduction of Intelligent design, student clubs, public lectures and the Research Fund
The Biocosmos team was welcomed by the Deputy Vice Chancellor Rev. Dr. Christopher B. Mukidi who introduced the team to the staff. The team began by introducing the mission and vision of the BioCosmos Foundation, providing a comprehensive overview of BioCosmos Africa and BioCosmos Uganda, and efforts to promote the theory of Intelligent Design in academic institutions.
The presentation included a detailed explanation of the concept of Intelligent Design, its relevance in educational discourse, and the Foundation’s commitment to fostering critical thinking and interdisciplinary research. The team emphasized the importance of involving the College of Education, given its strategic role in shaping future educators and influencing curriculum development.
The team also introduced the BioCosmos Africa Research Fund, which supports academic research aligned with Intelligent Design, and highlighted available training opportunities, including the Africa-Focused Seminar and the International Summer Seminar.
The DVC appreciated the Foundation’s work and acknowledged its growing presence across Africa, he committed to approving any activities, especially if the collaboration becomes stronger.
